Christ First United Methodist Church Ministries

United Women in Faith
2nd Saturday of the Month | 10:00AM

We’re a sisterhood acting in faith to tackle the hard work of the world without hesitation.

Driven by God’s love and united in sisterhood, we work to improve the lives of women, children and youth. Every day, we show up. We take action. We get it done. And we invite you to join us.

Supporting the
Mat-Su Food Bank

"I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink."

                                     ~ Matthew 25:35

At Christ First United Methodist Church, we believe in the power of generosity and community. When you go shopping, we encourage you to buy an extra item for a neighbor: your favorite can of soup, a box of pasta, any shelf-stable food that's a necessity in your house is likely a need in someone else's.

Donations may be dropped off at the table in the back of the sanctuary, and we will make sure they get delivered to the Mat-Su Food Bank to help feed our neighbors. Your extra contribution can make a world of difference to those who are struggling to make ends meet.

Deb's Coffee
Thursdays |  10:30am

In Memory of Debbie Turner is a coffee hour for faithful women to connect, share life, and grow in faith together.

Debbie Turner was a longtime member of Christ First United Methodist Church and a devoted member of United Women in Faith. For many years, she opened her home as a place of welcome and hospitality, gathering women around coffee and shared life.

In her memory, this group continues that spirit. We gather to share coffee, conversation, prayer, and faith Thursdays at 10:30 am.

All who feel called to participate are welcome.

Food Packs for Our Neighbors

“All we have are five loaves of bread and two fish,” they said. Jesus said, “Bring them here.” Then he had the people sit on the grass. He took the five loaves and two fish, lifted his face to heaven in prayer, blessed, broke, and gave the bread to the disciples. The disciples then gave the food to the congregation. They all ate their fill. They gathered twelve baskets of leftovers. About five thousand were fed.

~Matthew 14:17-21

At Christ First United Methodist Church, we are dedicated to serving our neighbors who are in urgent need of food. Hundreds visit CFUMC each week, some have not eaten that day and are facing food insecurity. To support them, we offer emergency food packs that contain easy-to-eat, non-perishable items like squeezable fruit, jerky, and crackers that provide 400-600 calories per bag.

If you're able to help support this vital ministry, please bring individually wrapped jerky, granola bars, and squeezable fruit to the church kitchen. Jerky is always needed.
